Swish . . . KLUNK!

As I was driving to my summer camp this morning, I turned a corner and heard
SWISH . . . KLUNK!
I turned around to find a baseball bag, a couple of binders for church and some shoes. I got to thinking (this only happens when I have time ALONE in the car) about my different stages of "swish . . . klunk".
When I was single, it was a "book - swish, klunk!" I had books for school, books of music, scripts, church books, hymn books, etc.
Occasionally it would be a "shoe - swish, klunk!" I had LOTS of shoes in my car at all times. There were extra flip flops (in case I changed outfits or bought a new one), tennis shoes (in case I needed closed toed ones), dance shoes (characters, jazz, and ballet - sometimes in more than one color), a pair of basic black heels (every performer needs one handy), and even just any shoe because I would sometimes go to the car without shoes and it's illegal to drive without them in Az, so if I got pulled over, I had a pair to slip on. Truth be known - I hate shoes and am found most times barefoot, so I think I was just lazy and didn't want to take them in the house after "stripping" them off the second I got in the car.
When I had kids, I moved up to a "diaper bag - swish, klunk!" The diaper bag was large and filled with such necessities and sometimes more than one was found in the vehicle. And can I just mention I hated when I would run out of diapers and/or wipes in BOTH bags? LOL

Now, my kids are older and the swish, klunk is not always easily identifiable. It could be a myriad of things. To name a few:
1 - baseball bags
2 - baseball gloves that didn't make it into the bag
3 - baseballs that come from the bag
4 - barbies
5 - hymnbooks (I occasionally get called to substitute and I leave it in the vehicle and forget and then the next time I grab another - you get the picture)
6 - shoes - and now if they're mine, it's not because of me! Kylee is the culprit here! :)
7 - cups of all sorts from a myriad of locations (i.e. Sonic, Circle K, QT, etc)
This list could go on and on and on . . .

Have you "Swish . . . KLUNK" -ed today??

Ha, this is so funny! So true- definitely a testament to what is currently happening in your life! Last week my car was full of shovels, rakes and boxes of plastic bags for Jacob's Duty to God project.

hmmm, yes. the ocd side of me hates that part of motherhood - being way too busy to keep a clean car laci is always bringing something in. we've found stashes of craisins, tiny gravel rocks, flowers, torn up pieces of paper... you get the idea, right? i think it is safe to say that she is our little packrat.
